Flying Lieutenant, RAFVR(T)
Flying Officer Chard started out as a Civilian Instructor (CI) working at 2533 (Bodmin) Sqn after spending many years in voluntary youth work, ironically it was one of her volunteers at work who introduced her to the organisation. She spent a several years getting to know the organisation as a Civilian Instructor before taking the plunge and becoming commissioned. She spent time working with different squadrons all over Cornwall and taking an active role on wing courses and events before work commitments saw her moving to deepest darkest Lancashire where she was posted to 92 (Chorley) Sqn and later Bamber Bridge Sqn. Fg Off Chard has been involved in lots of different Sqn roles during her time ranging from discipline, mini bus driving, stores, training officer and adjutant. After work commitments brought her to the Midlands she soon found a home at Daventry recently becoming Officer In Charge.
She is a passionate supporter of enabling young people to broaden their horizons and enjoys new challenges.
