Parade evenings are the primary focus of activity on the squadron and consist of a mix of formal classroom based-training, practical exercises, administration and drill.
We seek to ensure a careful balance of fun and formal training. Staff and cadets are normally expected to attend in uniform and to engage fully in activities. There is generally a greater emphasis on classroom training over the Autumn/Winter months and outdoor activities/adventure training in the Spring/Summer period.
We adhere to a structured training programme on parade nights. Motivation, commitment and regular attendance is essential to succeed in examinations and practical assessments, which ensure progression within the organisation and on the Squadron.
A number of training activities, such as flying, gliding shooting and most sports will take place on weekends. In some instances, cadets may need to make their own travel arrangements.
